Working Late

Hey everyone Another of my poems on the topic of working women. I’ve called it Working Late as I try to imagine how the girl must feel as she gets ready to start her shift. I hope you find it an interesting and thought provoking read.

Working Late

Working late again tonight
I start at half past 9
you’ll be watching bad girls
when my life’s on the line
gorgeous guys in expensive suits will never ask for me
because I work on Glasgow Green
In a job you’ll never see

Well not unless you part with cash
The starting price is £ 20
I’ll give you anything you want
as long as you respect me
I really need to catch the bus
It’s nearly half past 8
I’d better get the stockings on
because I’m working late
