Conflict Of Interests

Hey everyone A poem on a different kind of war it’s called sectarianism and is my view the curse of my country.

Conflict Of Interests

Somebody’s stabbed every six hours
murder’s the most common death
cardboard gangsters write on walls
this isn’t Derry or Belfast
but it still has its walls of division
this is the grim reality of bigotry made in Britain

Where neighbours don’t talk
because he’s in the walk
or she blesses herself
twice a day
where breaking the loyalty to family or tribe could mean you’ve a big price to pay
where the booze makes you hard
and the blades your ace card
as you swoop on your prey like a vulture
as this conflict of interests can never be solved
in this city of contrasting cultures
