Blood On The Stars

Hey everyone. A poem for World Aids Day tackling the prejudice which those who live with the condition face on a daily basis. I’ve called it Blood On The Stars I hope you enjoy the read.

Blood On The Stars

Ignorance fear and labelling
prejudice and bigotry
unbelievable beliefs
denying others dignity
the blood stained hand
you try to wash
though the taint of hate remains
sorrow is a foreign land
to those immune from pains

The wounds you caused to other hearts
cannot be healed with time
broken branches scattered leaves
will be forever thine
a cruel ill judged or heartless word
leave blood upon the stars
but those who pray in the still of night
will see you as you are
