Dancing Shoes

Hey Readers On day 13 of NaPoWriMo my poem celebrates friendship creativity, and the birthday of two talented dancers. I decided not to mention, the fact the girls concerned are twins because close as they are, they are also individuals and both have the right to claim this poem. It is with love and respect that I dedicate it to Kiara and Karson Ross I’ve given it the title Dancing Shoes I hope you enjoy the read.

Dancing Shoes

Ever since she was a child
she loved to dance ,
just like her mother and aunts
had done
a generation ago
now she flows across the stage
elegance and grace
the hallmarks of a true performer
who knows the value of practice
her routines honed to perfection
like any girl she has her dreams and ambitions
but realises education takes priority
it has to be that way
until the day the stars shine
in gold
as critics acclaim
the girl in the dancing shoes
