Family Ties

Hey everyone This poem could be about any new year party that I have ever attended but it may depending on what you read into it work on a completely different level. I have given it the title Family Ties I hope you enjoy the read.

Family Ties

After the bells when the songs are sung
a toast is made to everyone
the drinks are poured & memories come
to those who want to remember
but sometimes its best if we try to forget
before we act in haste & regret
the day we we’re part of the family
that loves a blether together

They say the truth comes out in drink
we tell each other what we think
scores are settled grudges bourne
& in the cold of a new year’s morn
we stop & ask the question why
we’ve not cut these family ties
the conditions are cramped
when we share the same house
maybe its time for us all
to move out
